Gia is a professor of physics and a member of the Center for Cosmology and Particle Physics at New York University. He received his Ph.D. in high energy physics and cosmology from Tbilisi State University, Georgia. Gia is one of the best-known and most controversial theoretical physicists in the field. He is responsible for some of the wildest theories about the nature of gravity, cosmology and fundamental particles. His seminars often devolve into shouting matches. He has won many awards, including being named a fellow of the Packard Foundation, and receiving a key to New York City for Excellence in Science and Technology.
